Movie: Letters to God

I found this movie in Blockbuster down here in Mexico. I was thinking to myself “This movie is probably not very ‘Christian’ if I can find it here.” I don’t know about the States, but here, not all movies make it to Blockbuster. I decided that the movie sounded good so I rented it to watch, not expecting much.
Letters to God is about a little boy, Tyler. He lost his father a couple years back and their family was still recovering when he was diagnosed with cancer. His favorite way to pass the time is writing letters. He writes his letters to God, talking about his day and his dreams and his death, which he talks about openly. Tyler’s strong faith is so contagious that he begins to influence the mailman who is reading his letters. He impacts the kids at his school and also his friend Samantha. Slowly but surely, he reaches out to everyone he can to tell them of God’s love for them. His brother and mother begin losing faith when Tyler’s illness only gets worse, but Tyler’s faith keeps them strong. Till the end, he continues to write letters to God, and his prayers were answered.
I don’t know about you, but this movie was very openly Christian, but yet I found it in a secular store. I’ve heard many people compliment it and I now add my compliments to theirs. This is a must-watch movie!
Pick it up now!
